Wire Connectors have internal storage buffers. Attaching a Connector to an appropriate side of an EU-accepting or outputting block allowed the block to work seamlessly. Prior to version 0.8, IndustrialCraft 2's Energy Units (EU) could be converted to RF through Wire Connectors and vice-versa, at a rate of 4 RF to 1 EU. Using Engineer's Wire Cutters on a Connector disconnects its attached wire. This limitation was introduced in version 0.8 prior to that, LV and MV Wire Connectors could also act as relays. Note than Connectors can only support one wire at a time. Using the Coil on another Connector or on a Wire Relay completes the connection. Using a Wire Coil on a Connector links the first end of the cable. Wire Connectors attach directly to machines, usually to a visible power plug. They connect machines, generators and capacitors to wires so they can send and receive energy, in the form of Immersive Flux (IF) or Redstone Flux (RF). Push-in connectors are best suited for solid wire but work with some low-strand-count stranded wire. If there are free ports on an existing connector, you can easily add to the connection without completely redoing it. Push-in connectors are available with different numbers of ports. Some of these devices have a clear housing that allows you to visually confirm the wires are fully inserted, and some also have a check port you can use to test the connection without removing the connector. They can reduce hand fatigue caused by the twisting motion required for standard connectors, which is especially helpful if you have many connections to make for a project. ![]() Push-in wire connectors aren’t as economical as twist-on or winged connectors but allow for very quick and easy connections simply by inserting the wires into the devices. If you’re working with aluminum wire, make sure the connector is specified for that application. ![]() Standard wire connectors are designed for use with copper wire only - don’t use them with aluminum wire.
